Boys State / Nation

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Mark Ochsenbein shares his involvement with Boys State and Boys Nation, and the importance of leadership.

This past July, Ron Ulseth walked through the doors of Marymount University, where he resided as a Boys Nation delegate in 1983.

South Carolina's Boys State program found a way to engage citizens in the election process and ensure accuracy through text polling.

At Boys State / Nation, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. The training is objective and centers on the structure of city, county and state governments.
